De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmonk Hand Drawn Illustration by Andrew Deutscher. The De Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk is a primary trainer aircraft with a tandem, two-seat, and single-engined design. It was created by the Canadian aircraft manufacturer De Havilland Canada in the post-World War II era. Widely adopted as a successor to the De Havilland Tiger Moth biplane, the Chipmunk gained popularity and saw substantial sales in the years immediately following the war. Notably, Australian aero clubs embraced Chipmunks as the new standard training aircraft in the 1950s, gradually replacing the Tiger Moth. A significant number of these aircraft were sourced from Britain, acquired through RAF disposals. For unique and creative handrawn illustrations by a human contact Andrew at Zinglogo.
